I was having a few drinks and then I discovered some Pop-Punk… In the Bath.

Now I’m out and all dry, which is a lovely image, *internet winkey face*, the new single by Bath Pop-Punk four-piece, Summoned By Ash is due a review.

While the magnitude of their Pokemon appreciation remains to be seen, what can be seen is SBA’s hook-laden, melodic set of Pop-Punk, with influence from the likes of Blink-182, Paramore, Flyleaf, Sum 41 and Relient K.

With two singles and an EP under their belt, the band’s sound boasts a strong set of upbeat compositions, set well within the realm of the contemporary genre, but with an occasional older and grittier bite from way back when.

‘Someday’ showcases their rockier, poppier side with inclinations towards a more “Easycore” sound, especially in it’s guitar work and structure.

Lauren Kate’s vocals are as strong as they are live, Tom Sworn and Charlie Stone hold down the Axe-work while drummer, Rowan Fisher, plays a complex beat that suites this aspect of the band’s output. Have a listen below and don’t just send it to the PC with the rest of your Pokemon, it’s not a fucking Magicarp.

That’s enough from me, check out the band via the following links:
