After reuniting in 2014, Concord Punks, United Defiance got straight back to it. The Product Of Disaster EP surfaced shortly after, then the full-length Way It’s Gonna Be in the latter part of 2014 and now the new four-track, Here’s To You EP in 2015.

If you’re unfamiliar with the band, their influences encompass a great deal of Punk’s finest. If you want the full list, click the link under the photo above. However if you’re after a nutshell, then words such as Melodic Hardcore, Skate Punk, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Strung Out and Good Riddance should suffice.

‘Dedicated to the lost and those who have suffered loss. Gone but never forgotten’

‘Telling Myself’ is nothing less that what you’d want from fast, raw, yet melodic California Punk-Rock. There’s not much more to say than that. Driven, low and fast, it would warm up a Pennywise crowd nicely.

‘What I’m Telling Myself, is that I’m doing just fine’

‘Better Off Drunk’ is my personal favourite. Whether it’s a distant cousin of ‘Better Off Dead’ from Way It’s Gonna Be, could be loosely debated but that’s not important. What is however, is that this particular track is 1:46 of old-school up-beat Skate Punk and snot-nosed Punk that showcases a newer side to the band. A good one too.

The one thing that never ceases to entice me within Punk-Rock music, is it’s level of community. At Punk and more “Alternative” gigs and festivals, the atmosphere and level of camaraderie is quite frankly the shit. ‘Nicina’ is an ode to a fallen friend, from the heart UD, from the heart.

With ‘Nicina’ having slowed things down, ‘Along The Way’ is your finale, with another slice of breakneck, gang-chanted Punk-Rock music to pump your fist at.

If it’s something United Defiance are good at, it’s fast and punchy Punk-Rock. Sound like something you’d dig? Well, the links below will help you with that:

I’m always excited to hear new releases. United Defiance ~”Here’s to You” is a four track EP that’s fast and infectious. I can totally hear the influences of Bad Religion and Pennywise, It’s the older Bad Religion that comes through and I love BR 80-85. This band has that passion. The pace and energy is badass. There is a slower track that is bittersweet, but it’s the beat of such songs as “Telling Myself” that sticks in my head. Good stuff…, great future..
