Now, you may remember our work on French Melodic Hardcore/Post-Hardcore troupe, Above The North, from earlier in the year. If you don’t and that sounds appealing, then you can find it and indeed the band – Here.

The reason I bring up Above The North, is because it is due to their vocalist and his well placed suggestion, MF looked into fellow Frenchmen, Hightower.

The band formed in Paris in 2013 and released their debut album in 2014, entitled Sure Fine Whatever. Currently the band are working on a new release so if you enjoy what you are about to hear, whatever is to come next will surely blow both yours and our minds simultaneously.

Hightower are another one of those bands that incorporate enough of Punk music’s diversifications to be a viable option for many.

Pop-Punk fans who lean towards the harder, “punkier” – gruffer side of the genre or those into Skate Punk and more traditional Melodic Hardcore, or those like myself, that have a more general taste in the fruit of the Punk tree will find that Hightower, are hard to fault

For Fan’s Of – Such Gold, Lifetime, No Trigger, Strike Anywhere, Gnarwolves, GutterLIFE.

‘How can I rest in peace, when there’s so much more to live outside these walls that lock me up, I’m half asleep most of the time sedated by some white pills and red eyes, unconsciously condemned to taste the ground’Passing By

Emotional lyrics and conviction, via hard-edged vocal tones, suit the fast paced side of the band a treat but the slower sections and tracks, which are filled with break-downs and refrains, add that depth that stop the band just focusing on the breakneck.

Whether it’s the 0:44 second barrage of Lifetime-esque Hardcore of ‘Motion Sickness’, or the slower and rockier ‘Cobble Pot’ or perhaps the well executed gruff yet melodic Punk-Rock of the release in general, fans of music in this vein, or simply emotionally charged and honest sounds, will dig this.
