Based in Wakefield and Leeds in England’s north, Post-Hardcore quartet, Cold Summer, formed in 2011 and since then have seen two self produced EPs, a full-length album, a UK tour and spots alongside some the biggest names in the scene, including Funeral For Friend, Milk Teeth, Brawlers, POLAR. and more.

The band’s sound for those new to them, emanates via influences from the best in the Punk, Hardcore and Post-Hardcore scenes, as well as beyond. Visit their Facebook page for the full list, but for now this will do:

Brand New, Thrice, Letlive, Night Verses, Deftones, Architects, Gallows, Queens Of The Stone Age, Converge, Sunny Day Real Estate, Alexisonfire, Rise Against, Touche Amore, La Dispute…’

Cold Summer are set to release new EP, Fight To Survive, on April 1st which is exciting in itself but to prepare for that, the new single and video ‘A Time Imagination Forgot To Inspire’ has just dropped.

Strong melodies, strong build-ups and strong influences from Alexisonfire are almost instantly noticeable, as are the vocal improvements from the bands previous work. In-fact, it is the sound of a more experienced, tighter band across the board.

The highlight for me however, was the band’s satisfying ode to the genres’ roots in the fast Punk-Rock playing you out, only adding more enticement and anticipation for this forthcoming EP.

Find the band and their music below:

  • Social Media: Facebook and Twitter.
  • Head to SoundCloud for streaming and their Youtube Channel for videos.

  • The forthcoming EP will be up for pre preorder via bandcamp AND iTunes very soon so keep an eye out for that!
