London isn’t normally a place you associate with Folk music. Punk-Rock? Obviously, but Folk not so much. That said, there’s a wonderful hybrid exception to that rule and it goes by the name of Wolfe Sunday, a Folk Punk musician who not only regularly traverses this land and others sometimes enters a studio with some good friends and records grass roots honesty.

We’ve seen Wolfe Sunday before and you can see how that went above but right now, it’s all about ‘Damage Control’. Wolfe Sunday has explored many facets of the acoustic Folk and Punk music scene throughout his work and with the last album exploring a more refined yet calmed tone overall, the anthemic Punk-Rock song ‘Damage Control’ is a return to disgruntled roots.

I am indeed tempted to petition that this song be re-recorded at a later date with a full band, plugged-in with full force but for now that is but a thought as through, thoughtful lyrics that I personally perceive to be making solid points between the lines, ‘Damage Control’ yields no complaints.

Musically, the raspy Punk of Wolfe Sunday’s earlier material is melded perfectly with the more melodic approach taken with the last release, which produces such an infectious rhythm you will find it well and truly entrenched, especially with the driven chord progression (2:25 – 2:42 in particular) and persistent percussion.

And the party’s over, I start to feel sober
