A little closer to my (second) home town with todays musing, we’re in the Uni-town of Oxford where in May of 2013 the Alternative Rock trio The Kaos were born and promptly began bringing us what we dig about stadium-Rock but with a DIY ethic and influence outside of those grounds.

It’s all riff heavy, gang vocals and drum solos galore in their latest single ‘Cold’, starting out with a Post-Punk/New Wave aesthetic into the verse with undertones of 90’s Alternative US influence into the chorus taking inspiration from Pearl Jam or Soundgarden respectively.

The Kaos’ influences range from an older Pop-Punk sound, the aforementioned Grunge and glimpses of a harder Punk and Alt. Rock sound, with said stylistics coming to prominence in the tracks latter stages.

This is something you’d listen to through an oversized PA with crushing subs, I only wish my headphones would be louder right now as the band are definitely worth checking out in a live scenario.

‘Cold’ is bound to please Grunge folk everywhere but also tickles a few other fancies in a way that leaves you wondering on that next release with anticipation.Find ‘Cold’ and everything The Kaos below:
