Back in October we sat down with These City Lights Really Aren’t As Bright As They Used To Be via London based Pop-Punk/Emo four-piece New, Again.

It was an EP that after the band’s debut single, ‘Arrows (It’s Over)’, very quickly began to experiment and tred new ground despite it being the only release the band had released at length. The EP explored the obvious Emo-Pop and more Pop-Rock led influences but also a more classic and playfully abrasive Pop-Punk sound that proved to be unexpected.

With ‘Nervous’ the band have moved forward as much as they have back tracked. Now as stupid as that sounds, the raw emotionality of the track is very much a more intense version of previous material, as is the inclusion of harder guitars. Contrasting this, the more dulcet side of the vocals on the other hand, as well as the pace of the track give an ode to the band’s roots.

We will be interested to see where the band go next.
