Bear Trap are one of the latest to put their collected feet over the threshold of the varied Manchester music scene and as of today have released their debut demo track, ‘Lena Your A Miracle’.

Having your debut demo as a single track can be said to be a risky move, especially for those hearing the band for the first time but it can also stand as a mysterious and advantageous move, showing but one example of a forthcoming repertoire.

With ‘Lena You’re A Miracle’ the era from which has clearly inspired the band is clear and unashamedly drawn from. Bear Trap draw strongly from 90’s and early 2000’s Punk and Pop-Punk music, with ‘Lena You’re Miracle’ boasting a driven mid-tempo rhythm section and sweet melodic lead guitars alongside complimenting vocal harmonies eluding nothing but appreciation for that golden era.

It really is no surprise that the band’s cited influences include the likes of Blink-182, Green Day, The Ataris, Sugarcult, The Offspring and Goldfinger. ‘Lena..’ has the hooks and the melodies as well as a chorus that well and truly will never leave you despite its relatively simplistic approach and short duration.

But why I hear you ask am I saying so much about one track? Well, whether releasing a single track is a tactic or not it does prompt the mind to wonder what the debut EP or album will have for us. Bear Trap quite subtly drop hints and a more driven and faster Skate Punk sound both through their influences and notably with the track itself, which also simultaneously suggests that they may well explore their Pop-Punk penchant further.

However, that story is for another time, find the band below:
