Long Island Punks GutterLIFE have never played it by the book. The band hadn’t released music for two years up until recently and despite this have maintained such a following it’s impressive. If you have ever followed their Social Media accounts at all or their vocalist Matthew VanRossem then the amount of activity must have BookFace’s algorithms struggling to cope and that, that is good.

The band’s new record is edging closer and closer and it’s been a hell of a wait. We have been teased with ‘Awake’ which you can find HERE and now the touching and cathartic ‘Road Sick’. Again, if you’ve been following all things GutterLIFE you’ll know how long the band have been working on this release and how they have stated how they are plan to cover as much in the way of “types of Punk-Rock” as they are physically able and with ‘Awake’ and ‘Road Sick’ you can see that they may well have achieved exactly that.

‘Road Sick’ takes inspiration from their fated journey west and further back to the band’s early days. GutterLIFE are as trapped as we all are between that rock and a hard place, with the former being our dreams and the latter being our home. You follow your dreams but you miss home and you face obstacles, which exactly what GutterLIFE have overcome for they a not a band to take anything lying down.

This second teaser from the new album takes in Post-Hardcore layered precision, VanRossems Hardcore-rooted rage and anthemic melodies from 90’s Skate Punk and golden-age Pop-Punk. This isn’t straight-up Punk but rather straight-up GutterLIFE-Punk which we should probably accept is a law and genre unto itself, which if correct me if I’m wrong, is exactly the point.

Keep an eye out for whats coming via CI Records and prepare yourselves.
