Some Kind Of Events Presents : The Punk Rock All-Dayer – 19/05/18.

Some Kind Of Events – Liverpool, England, United Kingdom.

The UK Punk and Alternative underground scene has grown exponentially in recent years, with gigs on the rise despite closing venues, house shows, labels, the availability of the music itself and festivals all increasing within this general growth and that’s exciting.

The 27 Club Liverpool will be hosting an all day Punk-Rock and Pop-Punk event showcasing the best in regional talent with some bands you may recognise and some you may not but all you will need to indulge in. Myself and Musically Fresh will be showcasing the run-up to to this show on the 19th of May 2018 with weekly features based on the the line-up so well compiled by members of Bear Trap, Red Winter and Cuecliché all of whom will be key parts of the event.

The line-up so far: ‘Bear Trap, Cuecliché, Everyone And Anyone, Hummer, The Hunx, Meet The Robots, Pardon Us, Red Winter, Three From Above‘.

If you’re a fan of the 90’s Punk and Pop-Punk golden age this all-dayer really is for you. Bear Trap bring heavier tones to a Pop-Punk sound so successful with their UK variant of the North American-led art. London Pop-Punk Cuecliché aren’t exactly short on melodies and neither are fellow Pop-Punkers from Wrexham, Everyone And Anyone whose latest EP is likely essential listening for you underground Pop-Punk buffs.

Hummer bring their own gruff Punk-Rock into play to balance the stellar but numerous melodies as the line-up tries its best to balance sing-a-long Pop-sensibilities with cathartic criticism and harder driven rhythms. Liverpool’s The Hunx shred forward on the back melodic UK Skate Punk in-line with the strength of that particular facet of UK Punk gathering day by day.

Fans of Direct Hit! or Teenage Bottlerocket will likely enjoy the energetic display from fellow Liverpudlians Meet The Robot as their June 2017 EP is in laymans terms really a lot of fun. In truth, there is not a bad band or band who won’t deliver on this line up and I could easily “go off on one” about each and keep you here way-longer than is necessary but I have my reasons not to do so and they are thus…

As stated above during this time elapsing between now and the event myself via Musically Fresh will be publish a series of small articles on each of those involved with this forthcoming all-dayer showcasing the bands and their music as well as some insights from the bands themselves on the whole shindig. That was a long sentence but its all true.

My advice? Stay tuned…
