The Black Country based Liberty Lies have just dropped their latest single before their November tour with veterans SOIL as well as Saliva and Sons Of Texas which is shaping up to me something really special with dates to be posted at the bottom.
But what of the new single? Well, in comparison to a sizeable chunk of the band’s other work, its level of continuity is strong and well present but still somewhat of a departure. Liberty Lies have been compared to the likes of Alter Bridge, .letlive and Protest The Hero and it shows but for me, the latest single ‘Are You Listening?’, sounds like a somewhat more Metal inclined Alexisonfire.
The crunching Metal rhythms are still prominent and well and truly a foundation but the more melodic approach structure in generality and of the vocal work stands out further. The band aren’t the heaviest but Metal music shouldn’t necessarily be the most ear-splitting thing you’ve heard and with Liberty Lies adding their own brand of depth, they are a band to watch.
