Now, it’s no secret that Musically Fresh has featured a near-wealth in Australian Punk-Rock and Metal music but what of the rest of the nations output? What about the sounds of Brufield? Who I keep reading as “Blowfeld” because I watched too much James Bond as a nipper.

I digress, BRUFIELD, B-R-U-F-I-E-L-D construct a solid Indie-Pop/Pop-Rock sound that despite my use of those genre tags isn’t anything token, rather rhythmic and dulcetly heartfelt.

That’s not to say the band’s sound doesn’t have some bite to it of course but for the most part is focussed on easing the pulling on your heart strings it pretends it isn’t doing.

Those whose ears are tickled by piano-driven Rock will find the keys of Brufield adding real depth both here and across their discography.

It’s true that the hints at heavier guitar work left me curious and wanting more exploration that that vein but that said, despite a formula that isn’t necessarily new, as said before it yields no complaints from this reviewer.

Now if anyone would like to purchase me a plane ticket to Perth, that would be great.
