The reasons to attend this Liverpool Punk music showcase continue with the tuneful Pop-Punk of the London based Cuecliché. The band have had strong and steady time of it since formation in 2017 with the their debut EP charting varied territory on the way to a uniformed sound.
Tones of harder 90’s Punk and Pop-Punk are permeated with melodies borrowing from Pop-Rock ballads as much as they do tones reminiscent of the Emo years. The band have had a steady stream of shows alongside many of the rising stalwarts of the UK and European underground scene and with another EP set for release later this year the band show no signs of letting up.
It is needless to say that much in the way of the in-scene camaraderie will be out in force at this day in May and Cuecliché themselves are more than excited:
‘This is an unreal line up of the north-west’s finest Punk music and to be the only “out of town” band on the bill is a huge honour. It’s always great for me to come back and play in my home city, the crowds are always brilliant.
Dean and me have a great history together, before I moved to London we spent around a year talking about making music together and sending ideas back and forth but unfortunately I had to move for work before we could get anything running.
Bear Trap’s first ever show was with Cuecliché and it was one the best gigs I’ve played and we all went off on a three day tour in July which we enjoyed. Sharing a stage with our two respected bands is huge for me as he’s a great friend and I love Bear Trap’s music so it’s a double pleasure.’
I know I keep saying it but this all-dayer is really, really, unambiguously shaping up to be something really very special. I keep saying it and I’m going to continue to do so. Cuecliché are a Pop-Punk band making their mark in a scene full of equally talented bands and that’s both a credit to the band themselves and the UK scene so well nurturing and nourishing such talent.
Now that may have been a interesting choice of words but the point remains the same, the underground scene is strong and indeed getting stronger by the day, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need all-dayers like this or the support of the lot of you. Go, you’ll enjoy it.
