Fans Spends $400 to Stand “Next To” Avril Lavigne… Seriously
Now, Avril Lavigne is an attractive woman. And she definitely made me feel certain feelings once puberty kicked in and I wanted to be all rock-and-roll and touch boobies.
But when it comes to meeting and greeting the ‘Sk8er Boi’ songstress, I’d expect to at least have a lovely photo as a keep-sake to remember the occasion of meeting such a down-to-earth person…
Wrong!
Imagine being one of her fans in Brazil during her recent appearance. You’re told you can not only see Avril Live, but then you can pay to finally meet her!
So you save up your hard-earned money, after hours-upon-hours of work. And then you go to the gig and have the most amazing time hearing the songs you’ve only ever heard on the albums you’ve bought since you were twelve years old. And then you spend your EXTRA $400 to meet her and have a photograph taken.
‘Do I hug her? Just shake her hand? Embrace her and tell her I’m her biggest fan?’ – No! You’re told by security that you cannot touch her and you must stand an arms-length away. (Or else.)
Let’s face it, if it ever comes to spending $400 on a woman – I want a lot more for my money that just to stand somewhat near her.
Seriously, look at the photos. If it’s not humiliating enough to have your “hero” indirectly tell you that she doesn’t want your filthy, hard-labouring, peasant hands on her in case you make her poor or give her scurvy – you then have to see she pulled the same awkward face in everybody else’s picture. F*ck You!
Seriously, it’s like she’s trying to convince herself, ‘I do like my fans. I do like my fans. I do like my fans…’
This really is a dickhead-move on the part of Lavigne.
When your career is built from the hard-working fans spending their money on your albums, or travelling miles just to see you live, the least you could do is show some human compassion and give them a hug.
Avril might have some music our or be doing a tour or something – but I don’t really want to promote her after this. And let’s face it, she hasn’t been relevant since 2007 anyway…
Awkward…
