Lady Gaga is at it again as ARTPOP Tour Kicks-Off

Yes, it seems just like hospital superbugs; Lady Gaga is back with a whole load of new gimmicks to make you violently vomit.

Last night was the first night of Gaga’s ARTPOP album tour, and she kicked off in traditional Gaga style. Between songs she would move to the side of the stage and perform live costume changes – stripping down to just a thong and nipple pasties. Ahh, so crazy and different I’ve never seen anything like this since her last tour… or Miley Cyrus’…

The kick-off show – dubbed as ‘the biggest artRAVE ever’ – was held at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, and also featured a giant seahorse and an array of crazy costumes and wigs. Sounds less ‘rave’ and more ‘7-year-old’s fancy dress party’.

Gaga actually Tweeted last November her plans for the tour, stating; ‘We are planning a RAVE of epic dance partying proportions with piano cabaret and ME performing LIVE.’ … It was all sounding so good until the end.

Am I attacking Lady Gaga’s musical talents or her industry smarts? Definitely not. When singing a cappella, I think she’s extremely enjoyable, and you can rarely find any faults with any of her singles/albums. I’m just saying there are at least 163 female artists (and possibly 6 male) I’d rather see in writhe around topless in fishnet stockings.

Lady Gaga reportedly named herself after the Queen track, ‘Radio Ga Ga’. Well, all I can say to that comparison is; Gaga, do you think Freddie Mercury would have entertained fans in concert by prancing up and down the stage in ridiculous outfits like a like an overinflated prima donna? I think not…
Hang on…

Gaga is also making a cameo appearance in the new Sin City: A Dame To Kill For movie alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. At least she’s found a context where she can fit in – the only other option was the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The ARTPOP Tour is scheduled to continue until November 10th, so I’m sure there’s still tickets for this crap available on the internet somewhere.
