Original music in a variety of styles’ – That’s the band’s simple one-liner when asked what they play. Bang on too.

You know those conversations about music you have with people that can sometimes lead to answers such as; ‘I like a bit of everything’, ‘Whatever’s on the radio’ or ‘I have my favourites but if I like what I hear then, yeah..‘. Well, this is the band for those people and the eclectically minded. So, expect plenty of tracks included in this one. For now though, here’s some genre-drops to give you a rough idea:

‘Punk, Alternative Rock, Ska/Reggae, Hard Rock/Metal, Rock n’ Roll, Country, Blues, Acoustic, Funk, Funk Punk, Instrumental, Grunge’

‘[…]We’re really into albums and bands that cover a lot of territory[…] We’re inspired by musical and creative freedom.’ It is no surprise then that further into the conversation that produced the aforementioned quote, the band cited The BeatlesMagical Mystery Tour and the incredible band, The Velvet Underground, as influences and admirations.

Expect these as separate as they are conjoined and fused, ‘…a bit of everything’ indeed. To attempt so many styles per release – or in general – is often risky. I Can’t Tell You how much they have pulled it off… That was awful, apologies. Time for some music, and in no particular order.

Riff-laden, hard=edged and filled with Classic Rock/Metal guitar work, ‘Machine’ is held together with vocals that are equally as enticing. I must admit, I do like this one a lot. Weird and wonderful comes to mind. The solos are fantastic, which is a plus.

And if you enjoyed this one, check out ‘Punish You With Sound’.

‘Girls Just Wanna Have Guns’ slaps you in the face with some old school Rock ‘n’ Roll, and that’s really all you need to read about this track.

Now, something Country. I actually really like this considering I don’t listen to much Country music, The farthest I go is Social Distortion and they only have but an influence. ‘You Don’t Know Country’ is very much a song that casts images of some remote town or village in America’s south or mid-west, whilst you’re listening to this off the radio and sipping whiskey against the heat. I like Westerns.

‘You don’t know Country, until you’ve been in a bar fight… you don’t know.’

‘Mile From Main Street’ is my personal favourite. For the obvious reason, it’s a Punk track with a cheeky Ska infusion. On the whole, it sounds as it it should have been played and recorded a few years after early Hardcore, when bands like Pennywise were poking their heads up. Good stuff.

Fan of this? Check out ‘Goddess Of Death’.

‘Blunt Force Trauma’ has got that real Southern RockBlues sound going down. Great guitar work and great groove, it’s hard to believe it’s the same band a lot of the time. As much as that can be a negative, it really isn’t with I Cant Tell You.

Funk? Funk Punk? Dirty basslines? Groove? Early Red Hot Chili Peppers? ‘Fluffy Touch’ has it all.A huge positive to this band is the quirky side incorporated into their music, and this is always combined with solid guitar work, whatever genre they play. Funky with some Punky-Grungey sections, what more could you want?

If you like ‘Fluffy Touch’ then look up, ‘Feeding a Fawn’

The last in this little taster of I Can’t Tell You, comes ‘Bad Idea’. One of the first songs I heard from the band, it’s stayed in the sound drive in my brain for a while now. Slow and fluttering rhythm guitars over a low droning bass, classic guitar work (once more) and softer vocals produce a stellar chill-out song. Relaxing, drinking, sitting in the sun – all three would work with this playing as the soundtrack to your day.

Well, there we have it, a taster of I Can’t Tell You from the albums Where is There and If Only so that I Might Walk Past the Jasmine.
