1000 Likes on Facebook. A Message to our Fans…

Holy milestones Batman! Jump in the batmobile and go grab a bottle Blue Nun.

Last night, Musically Fresh gained our 1000th Like on Facebook, meaning we’ve hit the four figures, and a mighty piss up is now being arranged.

It came a couple of days after our first anniversary, and it’s safe to say, all of the team are overwhelmed by the number of supporters the site has attained, and the positive response we receive with each review or feature.

A year ago, this website was started by two guys who enjoyed writing and loved music. Fast-forward a year; I’m still here, we’ve had 7 different writers, a host of interviews, the MF writers curse, and even merchandise.

A year ago I was trolling Facebook for local bands that I had mutual links to, asking for their permission to review their work, now we receive dozens of emails a week asking us to listen to, and review the work of bands and artists. It still amazes me to this day!

But, I guess that’s was the shared passion for music can do.

Last April, Musically Fresh was going to be a site dedicated to big, well-known artists (seriously, check out the first posts…). But we morphed into an incredible platform that is desperate to share the new sounds of hard working, up-and-coming acts, who we truly believe can be the next big thing if given a chance. We love their perseverance, passion and dedication to their art.

We’re Independent Writers, for Independent Music.

Consider this a thank you to all of you MFers who support us, the site and the music industry, and I’d like to add a personal thank you to the entire team who’ve ever been a part of it, and to all the bands and artists who we’ve featured.

There really is no way to describe the joy we all take from discovering incredible music, or a rough-cut EP, unearthing some absolute gems, and being able to share this music with our readers.

For me personally, the 1000 means a lot. It means people like what I started, and what the team do. It means there is a following for music and writing. But mainly, it means LEGITAMACY. And I’ve waited a year for it.

Our Twitter page has just passed the 500 mark, so if you are a Tweeter and you enjoy reading the exact same things we post on Facebook, only condensed down to 140 characters, then give us a Follow.

All that’s left to say is tell your friends and family about us, Like us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitter and buy the t-shirt!

And thank you.
