Hailing from the seaside district of Cornwall, this four piece describe themselves as ‘Wang Rock’. Now, I’m not sure what that means but I know what it sounds like… a mashed-up blend of the Garage band invasion of the mid 2000’s with some Post-Punk around the edges.
Forming in Falmouth in the winter of 2014, they’ve taken the Rock from the coastal community into the central cities and continue to do so today with shows in London and Bristol from February onwards.
The opening then leading riff is enough to catch the listener off guard and ensure their attention, simple lines intertwined and over lapped with short sharp segments reminding me of the importance of urgency in music and what got me into Garage bands in the first place.
For fans of Garage Rock and New Wave, I recommend parting ways with your bus fare and investing it in admission to the venue and an EP from the band!
