Led by female vocalist, Buyi Zama, who plays the role of Rafiki, the rest of her supporting eight-man ensemble followed suit, and gave an a cappella version of the musicals opening number.

The cast of the global hit musical were visiting Brisbane for promotional work for upcoming shows.

The musical made it’s debut in 1997, and has been a popular with audiences ever since. The music for the films soundtrack was written by industry icon, Elton John.

The passengers on board flight 0970 appeared delighted; singing and clapping along, many filming the groups performance.

The video ends with a round of applause from the passengers and a thank you message from the staff.
