For all you Isle of Wighters out there, don’t forget that this weekend is another great excuse to hit up Cowes when navy blazers and salmon-coloured trousers aren’t the fashion trend.

Rock the Cowes Bars returns for a full weekend (21st-24th of August) of live music from an array of local talent, including Cardinal Richelieu, The Wild Oats and Musically Fresh favourites, The Bear Social.

But this event is more than just a marketing ploy to capitalise on the coincidental and well-executed reference to The Clash’s 1982 hit, and it’s also more than just a great excuse for a piss up. This is one of them there charity things to help raise money and awareness of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support. Charity and great live music – they go hand in hand.

For full line ups, and more details and specifics on venues etc., visit RockTheCowesBars.com, or visit their Facebook page HERE.

Do something for charity that doesn’t involve getting cold and wet… (But still donate!)
