One man musical armies are always something of interest. The band politics and comprises don’t exist and although you could argue that there would be less in the way of inspiration, at least to begin with, it can safely be said that this is eventually replaced absolute creative freedom.

That Hidden Promise is the brain child one one Wayne Lee and within the past five years has taken on many forms via many inspirations. Picking your way through the back catalogue you can hear the distinct vocal tone of Mr. Lee in its strongly accented almost Britpop style as it traverses the likes of Indie, Alternative Rock, Blues and then on to far more in the way of twinkly Dream-Pop and even shavings of both Punk and Post-Punk.

May 12th marks the release of the new single ‘All Things, All Will Come’.

With this new single, the playful 90’s percussion is notable from the off as the further playful Blues-Rock toned guitar lead lend its classic sound as it drives this new single forward.

There is an ever-so slight Psychedelic tone on this Blues reverb which again assists this 90’s emulating track in its transition from the Post-Punk 80’s to the aforementioned 90’s and whatever all that was about.

For me personally the biggest strength of this new single is weight and heaviness it carries. Now it’s not overtly obvious and actually quite subtle but if it wasn’t doing its job through the lashings of distorted notes then this track would stand nowhere near where it does.
