Picasso The Banshee and The ‘Think It Through’ Single.

Picasso The Banshee – Southern California, USA.

Hailing from sunny Souther California, as you would likely expect, Picassio The Banshee play Pop-Punk music as a result of and designed for such sunny weather. The band take you back to early mid-career Blink-182 when they were somehow getting away with touring with the Punk-Rock greats of the day.

Picasso The Banshee have been relatively quiet since their debut release in 2015 but now with 2018 doing its thing and producing quite the tide of new music, the band have entered the arena with the new single ‘Think It Through’

I’m not going to pretend this is something new or ground breaking but rather be flatly honest. ‘Think it Through’ is a pure mid-to-fast tempo Pop-Punk love song singing of pains and the illusion of what the heart wants. Melodic yet mildly snotty classic vocals greet you as the band employ a more Pop-Rock early 2000’s approach overall for the first few verses in a track that at least at the beginning keeps the metaphorical crowd bobbing around after a likely fast one.

This Boys Like Girls-esque approach suddenly supplants though for the very stylistics I was hoping to see. The band seamlessly via a very welcome 90’s bass-line and light riffage fall into vintage Blink-182 influenced classic Pop-Punk and it couldn’t end a song very much simply “good” up until that point any better.

‘Think It Through’s is the forerunner to the band’s second EP You Left Your Lights On set for later this year.
