With Over To You, we have some Pop-Punkers from my hometown of Swindon, reminding me I should put my Trailer Park Boy’s marathon on hold and get out more.

Ideal Lives is the latest EP from the local lads and is also free, with the link provided below, though I’d happily part with a few beer tokens to own this slice small town frustration.

The EP begins with the simple vocal and guitar track accurately titled ‘Intro’, acting as just that, before kicking in with ‘Rotting My Teeth’, a very relatable track about nulling through the week to the weekend, only to start it all over again too soon, proving as a good and heavy mini anthem for “hump day”.

The second track keeps momentum with the previous, with thick, well thought-out riffs and chord patterns. I could easily recommend these guys to any fan of that early Feeder sound, before they got a little too apathetic for their own good that is.

Influences: ‘Lower Than Atlantis, Foo Fighters, Mallory Knox, The Story So Far, Green Day, Royal Blood, Queens Of The Stone Age, Nirvana.’

‘All Due Disrespect’ boast as another more Alternative Rock led track but with a Pop-Punk led chorus to keep both sides of the fence happy, while ‘Misery’ gives way to the riffs once more, sounding akin to Manchester’s The Summer War and riff-laden Pop-Punks, Tirade.

Overall, this stand-out, kick-ass EP is full of melody and equally conscious of it’s composition. I’ll be listening a fair bit and since Over To You are local, I have no reason not to check the live show, which you should probably do as well.
