The Violent Hearts – ‘Porcelain World / Hex On Me’ *Pre-Order*.

The Violent Hearts – Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.

With credentials that include the Hardcore Punk/Garage Rock of The Computers early days, thrown in their latter Blues and Soul AND the short but on point career of the band Sharks, Birmingham the three-piece The Violent Sharks have their foundation to say that least.

So, with the above genre citations and the infusion of the former sound of Sharks standing as some sort the Rancid/The Clash/90’s Alternative Rock hybrid, The Violent Hearts are a exciting addition to the underground UK and European circuit.

Upstart Geneva label Roosevelt Records have snapped-up this one and with good reason, as a follow-up to the 2014 The Penalty / Slice Of Life 7″ was well overdue. The 28th July is the date the Porcelain World / Hex On Me 7″ is due for release and with the dulcet yet intense tones of ‘Hex On Me’ its counterpart is also seemingly worth the wait.

‘Turn away from the place where you have come
Years feel like weeks and then you’re done
Can one be cursed by such?’ Ah c’mon, fuck off with your hex on me’

Post-Punk guitars and gloomy gruff vocals greet you over a deep rumbling bass-line that is somewhere stuck in the 80’s guide you along. Despite this gloom, the guitar work is very much the silver-lining on this moody cloud as its adds playful layers. I’ll leave you to decipher the rest.

Porcelain World / Hex On Me can be pre-ordered via the band and label which you can find below:
