Boston and Punk-Rock are relatively synonymous and thats a very good thing because underground scenes are unambiguously important as a form of cultural expression, as they often operate outside the limits imposed from above. Why am I beginning the preliminary stages of a socio-political rant? Because the debut single and video from Under Orders gives a variation of this point and does so very well.

‘The Speaking Mind’ very much concerns a burning desire to speak ones mind in situation where yours and your contemporaries mouths are metaphorically sewn shut or quite literally given the office revolution the band put on screen.

The debut track plies mid-tempo Alternative Rock over classic melodic Punk chord progression with the main focus on the huge and incredibly memorable chorus, itself only really subsiding for a classic and mildly bluesy solo that couldn’t really fit any better than it does.

‘The Speaking Mind’ is intelligent in its point both within and between the lines with the video excellently executed and as well produced as the track itself. I personally cannot wait to hear more form this band and if you’re in the market for some more stellar underground Punk-Rock, you need this band in your life.

‘I wanna clean this wall write down my words of fire
To show the others how you hypnotise my desire
This party is over, you can now turn off the lights
Your walls of innocence are falling tonight
My truth is gonna be alive
Be alive, be alive, be alive’
