Meet The Robots are the first of the ‘Punk Rock All-Dayer’ bands to be talked over ahead of the Liverpool showcase on 19th May after their apparent confusion over the Christmas period. It is unknown what caused such a lost and perplexed facial expression but we can assure you that that bassist and vocalist Si Web has recovered and is back in the driving seat so to speak, for Meet The Robots are now in pre-production for their third release.

‘We’re hoping to release some time this year but there’s loads to do between now and then! Really looking forward to getting back into the studio though. We’ve been gigging loads but it’s good to take a bit of a break from that and work on some songs.’

The band struck a chord with me instantaneously for the very reason that from the the very first note they sounded very comfortable. What do I mean? In a scene where despite obvious strength a band can easily either be labelled too serious or no where near enough so. You have bands that are quite literally writing songs with a Punk-Rock backing, rather than simply doing it for the impact, which is where Meet The Robots come in.

The band merge classic UK Punk tones with melodic, classic, harmonic and infectious 90’s Pop-Punk and quite bluntly, just get on with it in such a way that it’s really quite faultless. The band easily transition from this classic playful formula to hints at a vintage heavier-Punk seamlessly with a slight but crucial Rock n’ Roll twang that quite subtly adds to this already stellar formula.

‘We couldn’t pass up the punk all-dayer on 19th of May! Liverpool has developed a great punk scene over the last few years, a bunch of great bands have come out of nowhere and started blasting out great songs. It’s great to see. When Dean and Joe asked us if we wanted to play we were totally up for it, and they’ve sorted out a great line-up for the show. We’re totally looking forward to it.’

Meet The Robots are joining a line-up not to miss on an event that hopefully will lead to more in its name and others, its all got to start somewhere and that somewhere is within the grass-
roots.

Myself and Musically Fresh will covering every band lovingly placed on this bill up until the day it all falls into place so with that, meet some robots, bob-along, make some plans and we’ll see you next time.
