Mother Vulture and The ‘Habits Die Hard’ Single.

Mother Vulture – Bristol, England, United Kingdom.

Another band from music-plethora-land (Bristol), Mother Vulture whose name alone implies bluesy-Heavy Rock quicker than you can say “Led-Zepp” are a four-piece band doing some rounds you may want to learn the where and whens of.

The band’s sound is so full of damn-near perpetual riffery that any left overs are just recycled into and fed back into the band’s tenacious energy. Energy cannot be destroyed only altered and that’s Science, riff-Science. Riff-Science that has the energy of Punk-Rock, they groove of Stoner Rock and the weight of Hard Rock alongside vocal harmonies worthy of the attention of the most die-hard Led Zeppelin and Wolfmother fans.

A Bold Statement that be but I digress. ‘Habits Die Hard’ is relentless, loaded with a classic sound given a fresh new gloss. It’s the Hard Rock song that before going all out flirted with Punk-Rock and decided then to “play it faster” to use the DC maxim.

‘Habits Die Hard’ is very literal. It’s concedes that the age-old battle between something that feels good or natural might well actually be quite detrimental. Time and time again you try and you don’t seem to get anywhere but it’s ok because as the band hail – Rock n’ Roll will lead the way in the end.

Is this track or band anything new? No. But to blunt, it doesn’t fucking matter. Mother Vulture are doing them and doing it well. Much like 2017’s single – ‘Joker’s Smile’, ‘Habits Die Hard’ is compositionally tight and really incredibly comfortable in the most complimentary way possible.

This new single is excellent in two ways. The first being that fans of any vein of this music-scope will undoubtedly find it more than just appealing, which is obviously a plus. The latter and perhaps most crucial of said “ways” would be that the track is very much one that could easily ensnare those with no real care or perhaps an indifference towards this particular genre, which I can safely say worked really quite well.
